WHEN NEW YORK’s UNDERGROUND CROWD
A DOUBLE BIRTHDAY!
“This is your chance to join us for something you have never seen before. An evening beautiful and larger than life. An explosion of elegance and sensuality unlike anything else!” said the invite on Facebook. It takes balls to claim that “You are invited to experience a spectacle and showcase, a party that will be talked about for years!” in a tribe like ours. We bring the party with us. No need to call for DJ’s, contortionists and aerial performers, those are most of my friend’s hobbies.
Needless to say, hanging out in circles of highly creative and successful people, you get used to a certain standard when it comes to partying. There was a huge claim in this party invitation and it was coming from someone who know partying! And THAT definitely had everyone’s attention.
This event celebrated the birthdays of BOTH Lightning Society Founders, Timothy Alexander Phillips and Joe Che. Timothy was the organizer of the The Celestial Burlesquerade. And when several of your friends say that this was one of the best parties of the year- and mind you, it’s end of November- you know it’s not just your own impression- this event was phenomenal!
There was exceptional music by:
Muffs and Mykola
The 30,000sf super yacht was turned into a performance space with stunning views of Manhattan skyline, beautiful light projections by Kurt Ritta and Sarah Outhwaite and LED installations & Starlight Sound by Mykola Smith.
There were gorgeous masked dancers, acrobats and performers and all kinds of shapes of glitter. Costumes were mandatory, so the crowed colored the streets by the Piers in all shades of rainbow before boarding the boat.

And then there’s the tribe!
All the colorful and radically expressed creatures, who have sections of wardrobes and homes dedicated to party costumes and headpieces, who know a Mermaid from a Unicorn, who wear their true colors and are not afraid of glitter.
So, at the end of this year I am going to say extra thanks for my tribe, that knows how to throw one hell of a party! And if you liked this post, you might be also interested to read about other adventures of our tribe – MY MASSACHUSETTS TRIBE COMMUNITY and I FEEL, SUMMER ESCAPE or WHEN I FEEL …
