30 YEARS OF NIPPLES IN FASHION HISTORY!
Looking at the fashion history’s timeline one can see a strong presence of female body as a selling point in ads! Especially the nude female body. Yet, in our every day life women in the US constantly find themselves in a battle for freedom over their bodies. Whether it’s with the government to have our bodies not regulated, or with the conservative part of our society who thinks that breast feeding in public is shameful, we always feel betrayed. There’s an obvious double standard and somehow even some women fail to see it.
Fashion has been the most contradictory of all arts. It exploits and at the same time elevates women.
With current social media’s ban on female nipple as well as all kinds of stereotypical stigmas from our society it must be very confusing being a young girl. Women are fighting to have the right to not be objectified. And we are hated for it.
#FreeTheNipple is not just a movement. It’s our way of saying this kind of objectification is not OK. Whether you choose to walk through the streets of New York with a bare chest like Adina or wear a hijab, it should be up to YOU to make the choice.
So to honor the sacred female body, today I expose you to the public enemy #1 – the female nipple.
And if you have amazing images of exposed female nipples in fashion editorials, please submit to firstname.lastname@example.org or in comments below!
Because, let’s face it, our world without them would be very boring.
